I’m sorry but modern economics is the calculus of oppression and if you define yourself as an economist I automatically do not trust you

Come on, there were once anti capitalist economist in this world like Proudhon,…

The whole function of economics is, in line with the basic superstructure of capitalism, to make the market appear as a natural and eternal force. It isolates “facts” and builds them into a “science” without ever mediating them into the totality of the dialectical and dynamic societal whole, thereby feeding into the pervasive notion that global capitalism is a sort of unavoidable set point (to borrow a term from psychology) into which human relations inevitably fall. Of course, that isn’t to deny the fact the it is, for the most part, a roughly effective tool for understanding from within, and thus predicting, some of the functions of a market-based society, but all the same I think the institution of economics as a whole has more or less served to perpetuate the ahistorical and positivistic schema by which capitalism is maintained, so I understand, and think there is a good bit of justification in, the aversion towards economists expressed above, even if there are idiosyncrasies.
